If you have a particular design
that you like working with and
0:00
are consistently having to change
the colors or the layouts of your art
0:03
to something that you regularly use, it's
probably a good time to create a template.
0:07
Let's tweak our gym network line
chart a bit to something I like.
0:13
So first of all, I am gonna change
the title here to Gym Network.
0:18
And I want it to be bold and
I want it to be a little bit bigger.
0:24
So lets do 20.
0:29
And how about we make it, Black text.
0:31
Okay, next lets make
the y-axis numbers larger.
0:40
And let's also make those black.
0:45
And let's make the x
axis numbers larger too.
0:47
Let's just do the data series here.
0:55
Let's make them bold.
1:00
Okay, I also want to
change this line color.
1:01
I'll make it black and
I'll make this one, A different color.
1:05
How about one of these dark grays.
1:13
I'll leave that one gray.
1:18
I'll make this one, But
I'm gonna make it a dotted line.
1:19
And this orange one I will also make
black but with a compound style.
1:30
And I'll leave that blue one there.
1:39
And I'll just make this thick.
1:45
So I've changed the styling quite a bit.
1:48
And I know that I'm gonna use
this style repeatedly, so
1:51
I'm gonna make a template out of it.
1:54
So how do we do that?
1:55
Well, we right click the chart area,
and select, Save As Template.
1:56
And I will call this DataVis, save.
2:03
So now we have a template saved.
2:08
And if I go here to design and
change this back to what it was before,
2:10
I can then I can then select, Templates.
2:17
And there it is.
2:27
And look,
it automatically updates the styling.
2:29
Templates can save you a lot of time.
2:32
They can also be used to
provide a consistent look and
2:35
feel that matches your company branding.
2:37
So how do you share a template?
2:40
Well, when you created the template,
it stored a local file on your machine.
2:42
So all you need to do is find
that file in your machine.
2:47
Mine happens to be right here.
2:52
Remember, we saved the DataVis template.
2:55
So you could attach this
file as part of your email.
2:58
You can put it on a disk and
give it to a friend, but
3:02
then they can add it to
their templates folder.
3:03
And there you go.
3:06
That's how you share a template.
