HTML HTML Basics Images, Text and Links Images and File Paths Challenge

Feeling so worried....

I am really trying hard to complete these challenges and am frustrated because I've been working at my night job. Will I get in trouble if it's not all done by the target date? Feeling worried and stressed right now

Everything including the tech degree is done at your own pace and time, that's the beauty of studying through distance like this. I have noticed that you are posting very frequently lately on the forums on most of the challenges through the basic courses. Are you having a hard time understanding the basic concepts going on in the courses such as HTML? My advice is, if you don't fully understand something or are unsure of something, don't just complete the challenge and move on. Maybe for you it might take some practice getting a grasp and swing of things, if you are unsure about things and keep moving along, there will be a point where you might "overload" yourself for example and worry.

Try and practice the topics you are covering by breaking them down into small web projects for example, If you just learned about the <p> paragraph element, then practice adding them on your own HTML page as a project. Give yourself the challenge by ensuring that your code syntax is correct e.g. the <p> elements all have the correct punctuation such as a closing </p> tag at the end of every paragraph. That way you know that your punctuation and understanding of the use of these code concepts are sinking in and you are practising. Practice is a solid way to retain that information, an there will be a lot along the way as a coder.

The code challenges are just a simple neat way for you to actively use your brain on what you have been learning throughout a particular course. If you make mistakes, can't complete the quizzes or challenges, or anything else you may be concerned about, don't worry like I said, everything is all suited around you and there is no rush or pressure on completion. Good luck.

I know it's like I feel the deadlines looming and that gives me the worst case anxiety ever, which leads to frustration intolerance on my part. So I go back to the videos now.....no problems there. BTW---I know nothing about the down vote....sorry Jamie, can't help you there. Your answer is an excellent one.

with these challenges, there is no rush to complete them, they are there for you to do at your own pace & complete in your own time. One piece of advice I can give is, do not rush if you think you have not soaked everything up you have learnt. As this will lead to frustration and will tend to cause anxiety. :)

I am confused as to why this answer was down-voted!?? It provides an answer and some very sound and excellent advice. If one doesn't understand something... then review is necessary and recommended. If you just find the answer and try to move on, you will be more lost than you were before and the frustration will only grow. So the above reply is accurate and trying to be helpful, so a down-vote was not necessary or called for.

I negated the down-vote, and I would actually really appreciate whoever down-voted this reply to maybe provide an explanation as to why they saw the need to.

Thank-you.

thank you Jason Anders I work as a PHP Developer, and I understand the pressure one self can have upon learning something. I can rephrase my answer? But my main point is to take your time, review over the video again and if not sunk in, attempt to do a little practice on your own with notes taken from the video and go back to the points that were not understood. Then maybe from doing that little practice it may click.

Just for clarification, I would like to point out that I wasn't involved in the down-vote process, I don't even up-vote or down-vote people's posts. I came to the community forum like I usually do to help people where I can and noticed on this post the down-vote already there and that's why I chose to add another answer that maybe the OP could expand upon, even though jamesjones21 answered perfectly. Cheers.

Hey Jamie Reardon

Honestly, it didn't even cross my mind that you had done the down-vote. Your answer is well written and obviously intended to add to and complement jamesjones21 answer, and this is exactly what the Treehouse Community is about--helping each other out, by answering questions or adding on to answers already provided. Many things I have learned by scrolling through multiple answers for a single question. Sometimes, essentially the answers may say the same thing... but worded very differently. One wording may click with one person, while it may be another one that clicks with someone else.

I would like to extend a Thank-you  to you both for taking the time to offer up your assistance here in the Community. Believe me when I say that your participation is highly appreciated and respected!!
Thank-you.

Keep it up! :)
