`git log` requires `--decorate` to show what's in the video

Hi, I have to add the --decorate flag to git log to show the HEAD and branch information in the commit history. is this normal, or should this be happening by default? In the video he just gets that info using git log

That functionality was only turned on by default in recent versions of Git. Try running git --version to see what version you have installed. These videos were recorded using 2.19.1.
