Hmmm. That output doesn't look right, are you sure you ran java -version?

java -version returns the following for me in both Bash and CMD:

java version "12" 2019-03-19 Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 12+33) Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 12+33, mixed mode, sharing)

Looks like when teamtreehouse created the checker, they made a bad assumption about the format of the version number. They are expecting the main version to have at least 2 periods in it. That is true on all of the versions I just checked, but evidently yours is different.

If you change "12" to "12.0.0", it will work fine.
