I did some searching around and I think Google has ended its authorship program. ???

It appears that google has ended authorship in search. after 3 years? really?

Yes, Google ended their authorship program this past summer. Here is one of the many articles written about it:

I believe its still a good user experience to include an author on posts anyway. It gives some credibility and trust to the article if you can put a face to the words.
