i dont understand, i extended now im trying to remove and its not working

states = [ 'ACTIVE', ['red', 'green', 'blue'], 'CANCELLED', 'FINISHED', 5, ] states.extend(["cancelled, finished, 5"]) states.remove(["finished"])

Ok. He isn't telling you to extend in the challenge. He wants you to remove 5 and then he wants you to remove the list of colors. If you are just having fun with your code now, just because it's a piece of working code doesn't mean that the challenge will accept it. The challenge reader is supposed to check to see that you followed the instructions. Hope this helps. :)
