I'm stuck here.

Here's my try:

SELECT * FROM results WHERE away_team = "Hessle" AND played_on >= "2015-10-01”;

I'm messing up somewhere.

Your final quotes appear to be curly quotes. Replace those with straight quotes and you'll pass.
