The question goes:
"Since the works of Shakespeare are public domain, the 1996 film "Romeo + Juliet" starring Leonardo DiCaprio is also public domain and can be posted freely online."

If any work is in the public domain it can be posted freely online.
Work that is in the public domain has no intellectual property rights so anyone can use them.
I hope this is helpful.
