Media Query Syntax

Whenever I have made a media query, the media feature is always highlighted red. Which at this point I just ignore it because my code still runs correctly, anyhow could somebody explain why this happens and if it is browser specific.

If you're working in the workspace editor, the syntax coloring is being done by the workspace. While red is typically used to indicate an error, it's possible that you are using a technique that is newer than the syntax coloring mechanism.

If you'd like a more definitive answer, you could make a snapshot of your workspace and post the link to it here.
