I've taken a look at Meetup. A lot of tech meetings near me that I've seen are scheduled for weekday evenings, which coincide with my work shifts.

I'd be thankful for any advice as to how to get around this.

Start your own Meetup group and set your events for when you're available. Chances are there are other people in your situation, too.

You can also reach out to people in the groups. Ask them what it was about or if they took notes. Getting connect is the key concept, you can do this even it you can't make it to the meeting .
