You will work with a list of key words you
created earlier to identify Facebook
0:00
groups and pages where your audience is
likely to belong to, follow, or linger.
0:05
Some Facebook groups and
0:10
pages are extremely popular and generate a
lot of engagement.
0:12
Audiences on various niches are attracted
to these hubs and
0:17
either read, respond, or actively create
the conversation.
0:21
With more than a billion active users from
almost every corner of the world,
0:25
you can be assured that your audience, no
matter what domain your area belongs to,
0:30
is on Facebook.
0:35
For you, it is a goldmine you can not
pass.
0:37
It's a great opportunity to learn from and
engage with your audience.
0:41
Follow my demo on Facebook and pause and
0:46
play the video to complete these steps one
by one, if needed.
0:48
I will use keywords related to my
imaginary dance app as an example.
0:53
You'll use your topic instead.
0:58
Ready?
1:00
All right.
1:01
So I have, Facebook here and Iβm just
gonna use the social,
1:02
itβs called the social graph search, right
here, the top box.
1:07
Place your cursor inside the box and just
start typing your first keyword.
1:12
Iβm gonna use dancing.
1:17
All right.
1:20
The next thing I'm gonna do.
1:21
It's not intuitive, but the next thing I'm
gonna do is completely ignore what I
1:23
see here and click the bottom part here,
see more results for dancing.
1:26
And what I see here are results, All
Results for now.
1:33
But I can go into specific results based
on what I'm looking for.
1:37
So, the first place I'm gonna go to is
pages.
1:41
Alright, so scan the results and select
pages that seem relevant to you and
1:45
that have a relatively larger number of
likes.
1:51
Let's see how we do that here.
1:54
So, I hit Pages and then I'm starting to
scan, dancing, field of study.
1:56
42 million likes, that is something I
want.
2:01
So I would copy that link and paste it to
my worksheet.
2:05
Let's see another thing.
2:11
Dancing with the Stars definitely more
than five million likes.
2:12
Dirty dancing the movie, okay so
2:17
as I go over the list I can also find some
pages that are not so relevant.
2:19
So for example, Dancing Crab is a
restaurant,
2:24
it has a relatively a lot of likes.
2:28
I, I'm only looking for a few people,
5,000 is a lot for
2:31
me, but it's a restaurant.
2:34
It's not related to dancing actually.
2:36
Same thing with Dancing Moon which is a
band, a music band.
2:39
also, I'm not interested in pole dancing.
2:44
That's not what my app is about.
2:48
So these are pages that I'm not going to
select.
2:50
After you select 10 pages, go to the top
of the page and select Groups.
2:55
Show you this, go to the top of the page,
select Groups.
3:00
And what you do next is pretty much the
same thing.
3:04
Scan the page, look at the results, and
decide which group is relevant for
3:07
you and which one isn't.
3:12
You'll decide by looking at the name of
the group and
3:14
see how relevant it is to your domain.
3:17
Look at the number of members.
3:19
If it's a very popular group, that's good.
3:21
If it has 10 members it's not good.
3:24
But also look, if they say it's a closed
or open group.
3:26
So we have closed groups here, and this is
an open group.
3:32
This is actually not a group I'm gonna
seek because it only has 15 members, but
3:35
I'm only looking for open groups.
3:39
And the reason is that in a closed group
you have to join.
3:41
When you, when you click join, you send
the request to join to the group owner and
3:46
then they can decide if you can join or
not.
3:50
By the time they decide, you can't really
post anything there.
3:53
You can't access the, the group.
3:57
So this is why I'm looking for open
groups.
3:59
You don't need to have anyone approve your
membership, you can just go there and
4:01
post there whenever you want.
4:06
When you find enough groups that you're
interested in, copy the URL of each
4:09
group you select to the section titled
Facebook Groups on your worksheet doc.
4:13
You are done with this step when you have
identified 10 pages and 10 groups.
4:19
Now let's see how you can find your
audience on Twitter.
