    Hi, I'm Ben, and in this course we're going to practice writing SQL reports. 0:04
    And we're going to do it from the perspective of a business analyst 0:09
    at a school. 0:12
    Like many organizations, schools have a lot of data, and 0:13
    they often need help of making sense of it all. 0:17
    Writing reports for class sizes, getting students' schedules, or 0:19
    maybe even just figuring out what's for lunch. 0:22
    These questions can all be answered by data in the database. 0:24
    And it's going to be your job as a business analyst to answer them. 0:27
    These days, data is everywhere. 0:32
    And while this course is centered around a fictional school, 0:34
    the SQL skills you use here will apply equally well to any other field. 0:36
    Once you've got down the basics, writing reports is pretty similar wherever you go. 0:41
    So to help you get some practice, in this course we'll be sending you to a fictional 0:46
    Jefferson Middle School, where you'll be tasked with writing a series 0:51
    of increasingly difficult reports to help them start off the school year. 0:54
    But don't worry, we won't be sending you unprepared. 0:58
    In the rest of this stage, we'll cover exactly what their database looks like, 1:01
    and then give you a few practice problems to help you get comfortable 1:05
