Fatal: destination path

Why is my git clone (github url here) coming up with this error message: fatal: destination path "medals" already exists and is not an empty directory. ?

This error usually means that you're trying to git clone a repository into a folder that already exists on your computer, and that folder is not empty so Git refuses to overwrite it.

If that's the case I would just clone it into a different directory.

Without any other info I'm not sure. I hope this helps out!
