I get this error: "Bummer: You need to set the padding for .social-links elements to 15px." I thought thats what I did?
<!doctype html>
<html>
<head>
<title>List Example</title>
<link rel="stylesheet" href="styles.css">
</head>
<body>
<a class = "social-links" href="#">Follow me on Twitter!</a>
<a class = "social-links" href="#">Send me an Email!</a>
</body>
</html>
.social-links {
padding = 15px;
margin = 10px;
}

36,427 PointsHi Ellen!
Your HTML looks right, but CSS property assignment doesn't use an equal sign. You use colons, like this (it passes):
.social-links {
padding: 15px;
margin: 10px;
}
I hope that helps.
Stay safe and happy coding!

19,938 PointsHello
You've done the right thing, you just need to remove the spaces between the attribute name and the value.
In this case:
<!doctype html>
<html>
<head>
<title>List Example</title>
<link rel="stylesheet" href="styles.css">
</head>
<body>
<a class="social-links" href="#">Follow me on Twitter!</a>
<a class="social-links" href="#">Send me an Email!</a>
</body>
</html>

4,112 PointsAhhhh.... you see I knew that it was supposed be colons. Wow, itβs like my brain didnβt even see it. Iβm so used to other languages that use =. Thanks so much!

4,112 PointsI only space stuff because itβs easier to see, it said I was right up until adding padding and margin in. The other comment got it right, itβs colons not equals signs. I didnβt even notice Iβd used equal signs
