C# C# Objects Inheritance Catching Exceptions

Try/Catch assignment error

Hi

My assignment here is to enclose a given WriteLine statement in a try/catch. The error I get everytime is "Did you add a catch block ?" Here is my code

int value = int.Parse(Console.ReadLine());

if (value < 0 || value > 20) { throw new System.Exception();

} try { Console.WriteLine(string.Format("You entered {0}",value)); } catch(System.Exception) { Console.WriteLine("Value is out of bounds!"); }

There is clearly a catch block and that is why I am confused

Program.cs
int value = int.Parse(Console.ReadLine());

if (value < 0 || value > 20)
{
    throw new System.Exception();

}
try
{
     Console.WriteLine(string.Format("You entered {0}",value));
}
catch(System.Exception)
{
    Console.WriteLine("Value is out of bounds!");
}

The "try" bock needs to enclose all the other code, particularly the part where test is being done and the "throw" is performed. Only events that occur inside the "try" get caught by the associated "catch".

Thanks man really appreciate
