Sign upI thought today would be like any other day, 0:00 but I was wrong, very wrong. 0:04 I had just gotten back to my conversation with Brian. 0:08 Through a few exchanges, we talked about some past projects we have been working on 0:10 and mentioned to him that since the weather was too hot outside today, 0:14 I thought I'd practice learning React. 0:18 That must have sparked something in Brian because in that moment, 0:20 he brought to me an idea, an idea to build a weather app. 0:24 So I grabbed my best friend's ChatGPT and GitHub Copilot, and we got to work. 0:27 I started off with the basics of course. 0:33 I asked my buddy ChatGPT to help me get a React app started from scratch. 0:36 ChatGPT made quick work of that and 0:41 explained step by step how to get that started. 0:42 Though the information it provided me was slightly out of date, 0:46 I was still able to get the app up and running. 0:48 If only ChatGPT were trained on Treehouse's React course, 0:51 it might have not messed this first part up. 0:55 But like any great developer relying heavily on AI, I kept on prompting and 0:57 my weather app started to take shape. 1:02 Time felt like it was flying by, even though my clock was spinning backwards. 1:05 Once I started getting data back from my Weather API, 1:09 I knew it was time to work on the UI. 1:12 I asked ChatGPT to give me some ideas for 1:15 the layout as well as some color palettes for the project. 1:17 After hating literally every option it supplied me, 1:21 I decided it was time I found my own way in life and let ChatGPT go. 1:24 I quickly turned around an ultra complex UI, and 1:29 coded out the rest of this massive code base on my own. 1:32 And here it is. 1:35 The weather app of all weather apps. 1:36 Indulge yourself in this immersive and incredibly complex UI. 1:39 The intricate architecture of the React code base, and 1:44 the memories made with my best friends on this adventure. 1:47 Once again, thank you, Brian, for planting the seed of an idea that has blossomed 1:51 into a project that could genuinely change the world. 1:55 Your contribution has made an indelible mark on my life, and 1:59 I am forever grateful for your support. 2:03 [MUSIC] 2:05
